Topical StampWhys from Czechoslovakia

In 1983, Czechoslovakia issued this stamp to honor:

a) corn farmers
b) ski jumpers
c) rapid transit
d) paper fasteners

Give yourself a gold medal if you answered (b) ski jumpers.

When I first discovered this stamp, I thought of paper fasteners, so if this was your choice, you're a runner up for having a vivid imagination.

This stamp (Scott 2454) commemorates the 7th World Ski-jumping Championships. It may come as news to some that Czechoslovakia no longer issues stamps. The nation split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1991.
