Q: Which of the occupations listed is one of Father Brown's professional duties?

Answer: Not all priests are exorcists but every priest is a confessor of sins venial and mortal.

It is this paradoxical combination of innocence and knowledge that underlies Chesterton's characterization of Father Brown. Chesterton, a literary critic and moralist, produced five collections of Father Brown stories, beginning with The Innocence of Father Brown (1911). Two collections are in the public domain and can be downloaded in zip or text format at Project Gutenberg's Electronic Library (http://promo.net/pg/).

A question to readers: Isn't that broad- brimmed clerical hat shown on the stamp a symbol of the Spanish clergy and thus unlikely to be worn by a British priest?
