The Mystery Box book is the proud winner of a Silver Medal awarded by the Chicago Philatelic Society CHICAGOPEX Literature Exhibit
Read the Book Review by Barbara Kinne of the APS American Philatelist

I first began corresponding with that Grand Gentleman of Philately, L.N. Williams, in 1997, having been referred to him by the American Philatelic Research Library as someone who might have some information on an elusive stamp for Nicaragua, which might or might not be a Cinderella. His reply expressed some of the qualities of the man I came to appreciate in his letters - engaged, witty, warm, wise, and definitive.
Among his many philatelic interests, Cinderella stamps - or stamp "pretenders" of different types - were close to his heart and he was, for many years, the editor of The Cinderella Philatelist, a publication of the Cinderella Stamp Club in Great Britain. Many stamp collectors are familiar with the Williams name for another reason, namely as author of the "bible" of stamp production and design, Fundamentals of Philately (available from the American Philatelic Society).
This issue of The Mystery Box is dedicated to his memory. As part of the tribute, our featured mystery story is The Fallen Vicar- inspired by a delightful set of Lundy Island "pretenders"-which Mr. Williams enjoyed and published in the May, 1998 issue of The Cinderella Philatelist.
